Access Project: About the Project

The Access project was begun by Gloucestershire Lifestyles but is supported by a huge network of disabled people and disability groups in the county.

The idea of the project is to build a database giving information on the accessibility of buildings in the county including elements such as wheelchair access, clear signage and guide dog acceptance.

The database is kept up to date by individuals and organisations, who fill in a simple card when visiting a building, giving their observations on the level of access.

If you would like to take part, you can pick up some cards from Lifestyles or fill out the online form on the How to Get Involved page.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Access Project: Search the Database

You can search the Access Database using nearest town and/or keywords.

Nearest Town

Select a town from the drop down list. You can also select All to search all towns in the database.

Keywords

You can type a word or part of a word into this box. The database will then return all matches of this word or part of word. This searches company name, address and type of premises.

If you leave the keywords box blank, the database will return all premises located in your chosen nearest town.
