Changing lives by challenging disabilities

Buddy Scheme: Volunteering

Becoming a buddy to a person with a mental health problem or learning disability can be a highly rewarding experience.

Our buddies simply give a small amount of their time, enabling our participants to enjoy their favourite activities such as visiting the theatre, walking, art or participating in sports.

You will always be supported by a co-ordinator and will receive ongoing training throughout your time with us.

The Buddy Scheme will reimburse any incurred expenses, including travel costs, so at no monetary cost to you, you are free to enjoy a variety of activities supporting and encouraging those who are less able and at the same time providing an essential break to their carers.

If you are interested in becoming a buddy, please contact:
Lisa Teague at the Buddy Scheme on 01452 312994.
