Liz leads the Buddy Scheme team, overseeing both the mental health and learning disabilities programmes. Prior to joining Lifestyles, Liz has been working in the mental health field for 10 years, managing two day centres for working age adults with severe and enduring mental health problems in the Stroud and Cirencester areas. She also holds a City and Guilds certificate in community mental health care. Liz believes in opening doors for people with disabilities, and their carers, providing them with the opportunities to realise their potential,ambitions, desires and raising their horizons and hopefully as people go through the doors, barriers and discrimination will lessen.

Lisa joined the Buddy Scheme in April 2006, her first role in supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health problems. She has personal experience with learning disabilities, having family members who are autistic and have dyspraxia and dyslexia so she can empathise and knows just how hard things can be.

In May 2006, Lisa also became the volunteer co-coordinator for the Buddy Scheme, a role which expanded to the whole of GLS in February 2008.
